The Spotlight is a new series where we showcase the music of a specific record label. We start things off with KingUnderground, one of our favorite indie labels, who has been releasing hip hop gems for the last couple of years. We have Dan Englander, the co-founder of KU, to guide us through some of his favorite releases.
"KingUnderground was established in 2005 as an independent online-record outlet based in the UK. Today KU operates as a record label as the online store was closed down in late 2010. It was co-founded by friends Dan Englander and Peter McCaffrey. Now it is owned solely by Dan but it operates on the basis of a collective with a love for music, skateboarding, visual art, film and record collecting."
