BABIES HERE’S "THE HOLLY JOLLY TRUTH"….

Helloooo, mama’s got a pep in her step this morning cause nothing, I mean nothing, puts me in the mood like Christmas. So when the peeps asked me if I’d be down to record a Christmas song I was obviously fired UP. I thought about all the classics I love, I thought about that Joni Mitchell song “The River.” I thought about doing a mash-up of a couple faves just so I could get it all in—but at the end of the day I knew I’d regret not trying to sit down and write about what was actually in my heart when it came to Christmas. Classic em, so dramatic. I love it.
So there I was in the middle of September walking into Mike Elizondo’s studio wondering what the hell I could possibly say about Christmas that hadn’t been said yet… started thinking about my new boyfriend. He’s cool, he’s a hottie, we have the same core values. I’m guarded as hell though and the independent woman thriving in me after my little identity crisis will never again let herself get lost in a boy. Then again, he picked a good time to try and win me over because the vulnerable, “never been hurt before” little girl in me comes OUT during the most wonderful time of the year. If he wants to get me now’s the time to do it. Mike was playing the intro of this song as I opened the door and it hit me “I’ll never fall in love with you if I can’t fall in love with you this Christmas.” And THAT’S "the holly jolly truth" people. Wish him luck guys!
The Holly Jolly Truth Video Still

Also can we talk about how SWEET the freaking music video is?!?! My parents digitized all of our Christmas home videos for me… took 2 solid days for them to figure out dropbox but they did and the peeps put together this CUTE ASS compilation of all my childhood Christmases. You can see that little girl I’m talking about with your own two eyes. The first time I watched it I was on my period and totally bawled my eyes out. I miss being a kid sometimes. Actually shot a reaction video and will share that soon <3
Love y’all so much! I hope this Christmas is your best yet… and if you’re not into Christmas, I hope this song can at least put you in the mood like commitment’s something you could maybe do right ;)
2020 watch out y’all. We’re gonna light it up, me and you.
Love, em
PS happy birthday Jesus, you’re the man
xoxo

Ana Mazzotti’s Smooth Samba-Jazz is Rescued From Obscurity
