spotlight on ASCAP at 100. Anchor Anthony Mason walks the halls of our
New York office and speaks with ASCAP President Paul Williams about our
efforts to uphold the rights of songwriters and composers in the digital

Every two years, ASCAP holds elections for
the Board of Directors, in accordance with Article IV, Section 4 of our
Articles of Association, our member-ratified governing document. All
writer and publisher members with performance credits in the past year
are eligible to vote.
Contemporary jazz songwriter-artist Somi's
new album comes after a move from New York to Lagos, Nigeria. The

ASCAP President and award-winning songwriter
Paul Williams has been announced as a keynote speaker at Midem, the
international music business conference set to take place in Cannes,
France from June 5th - 8th of 2015. Williams will speak about the social
and economic value of music in the digital age.
On November 10th, ASCAP singer-songwriter
Ingrid Michaelson played an intimate set for a room full of music biz
notables at The Village Studios in Los Angeles. The event was a
fundraiser for the Guild of Music Supervisors, and a celebration of
Michaelson's gold single "Girls Chase Boys." ASCAP proudly co-presented
the event.
ASCAP was the Founding Sponsor of the 2014
Billboard/The Hollywood Reporter Film & TV Music Conference, which
brought together creators and industry execs to discuss the state of
film and TV music today.
In 2013, Jonny Amos, Pauly Greenwood and
Meldra Guza wrote a song together from across the Atlantic. At the 2014
ASCAP EXPO, Darrell Brown invited them onstage to perfect it. Read this

Singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc has written a fiery op-ed for Wired
calling on streaming services to pay songwriters fairly. Blacc urges
policymakers to update the Consent Decrees that keep songwriters from
negotiating the true value of their work.
Gabriel Mann (Modern Family, The
Rescues) will write and record a song with 16 Los Angeles 4th and 5th
grade students at Braddock Drive Elementary School. The sessions are
part of the ASCAP Songwriter Residency, a partnership with America
SCORES.
Leland is the mind-bending pop brainchild of
ASCAP songwriter Brett McLaughlin. To celebrate the November 4th release
of Leland's very first video, for debut single "Aware," we asked him to
tell us five things that every songwriter should be "aware" of.
Alan Jackson and Craig Wiseman presented
with the ASCAP Heritage Award, Ben Hayslip and Jimmy Robbins earn
Song of the Year, and Warner/Chappell takes top Publisher Award at the
52nd annual star-studded gala in Nashville on Nov. 3rd.
