The infectious ‘Elevation’ has already proved popular with fans; it has been heard around the world and when S.E.L opened for the UK Soul majestic collective with her new single, the stadium sang along to the chorus at every performance. ‘Elevation’ epitomizes the true authenticity of UK Soul, with a deliciously infectious hook and fresh, uplifting lyrics. Determined to bring British soul music back to its grass roots, ‘Elevation’ is S.E.L’s third release. 'Necessary' was S.E.L's debut release, with Cubit Records, which received international acclaim and was described as sounding ‘like Spring’ by Jazzie B, OBE. Rachel Wakefield of Newsquest recounted S.E.L's vocal tone on the track as being warm and shimmery with a ‘hypnotic melody’. 'Necessary' was followed by ‘Daydream’, a self-release which saw S.E.L explode onto the worldwide Soul and Jazz scene. Both ‘Necessary’ and ‘Daydream’ were playlisted on major mainstream radio stations and ‘Daydream’ reached number four in the Jazz charts. 2016, then, looks extremely positive for S.E.L with the recent release of ‘Elevation’. Backing vocalist manager, choreographer, and full-time member of legendary London-based group Soul2Soul, S.E.L is much more than an incredibly talented vocal artist. S.E.L has written music for both herself and other artists, featured as a vocalist and writer for German production duo ‘Braa Conspiracy’, sung live at a number of festival performances throughout the London Olympics in 2012, collaborated with Blue’s Duncan James, arranging vocal harmonies and performing backing and lead vocals, and worked with the likes of Alicia Keys, Debbie Harry, S.O.S band, Mica Paris, Jocelyn Brown and many others. Described as having formidable vocals, S.E.L has certainly come a long way since her passion for music was first ignited when she began to play classical violin and piano at the age of six.
